Unusual CIVIL WAR ARMY NAVY JOURNAL Newspaper, Nov. 14, 1863 


DESCRIPTION: Scans show some of the typical items from my other issue listed (different date shown). This is a fairly rare Civil War publication, with a variety of unusual articles and perspectives, all for the military man.  This is Volume I, #12, dated Nov. 14 1863. ABOUT THE TIME THAT THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS WAS BEING GIVEN!!!

Has 15 pages of news for the Volunteer. A lot of "news of the day", including Meade's movements (IN DETAIL!!), Grant, Chattanooga, Charleston, The Battle of Chickamauga, Rappahannock, mentions use of pontoons (protected by Berdan's Sharpshooters), guerrillas firing into steamships, specific movements of 2, 3, 5, and 6th Corps, as well as particular NY, Indiana, Mich, and Pa. regiments, articles on the HOTCHKISS SHELL, INFANTRY CLOTHING,  a report from General Lee on Battle of Bristoe Station, and loads of military and other period ads, etc., etc., etc.   A great variety of content, way too much to cover here.

HAS GREAT EAGLE MASTHEAD!!!  Great for reference, good reading, or nice size for framing. 15 pages long. 

Measures about 12" x 16".
