Here we are offering a stunning Antique Art Nouveau Solid Silver Hand Mirror with Repousse decoration.
This features a stylised Maiden playing a zither .
It is decorated with Art Nouveau flowers and sinuous shapes .
The piece is by William Aitken of Vyse Street ,Birmingham . This dates to c1902 or shortly afterwards .
The silver work is in lovely condition with no holes and very little wear . The hallmarks are crisp and clear , but the date letter is slightly difficult to read to the untrained eye ( me ).
This is substantial and superb quality , the Mirror weighs 508 Grammes and measures 11.25 x 6.25 inches.
The mirror itself has a bevelled edge , there is some oxidation around the edge and there are some marks on the mirror , it is untouched and unrestored , just how we like to discover them .
( We are offering the matching Hair Brush in a separate listing, the hair brush is shown in 2 of the later photographs alongside the mirror , it has the same pattern obviously ) .
