Jean Coune  1900 Düsseldorf  -  1963  (German)

 German painter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf under the direction of Helmut Liesegang. He painted landscapes of the lower Rhine, rural landscapes with animals, as well as views from above the North Sea. His works are often found in European auctions.

He was predominantly influenced creatively by the 1900s and 1910s growing up. The Fauves are generally considered to be the first foremost Post-Impressionist group, working in the at the start of the twentieth century. With artists such as Henry Matisse within their ranks, the Fauves believed that vivid, other worldly colors and vibrant brushstrokes were an integral component of painting.
