As an normal seller (rather than a big company which can negotiate deals with the Royal Mail) selling individual books on eBay is not something which will pull in the big bucks.
We have some books to sell, there's no sensible grouping so we're selling them individually at a very low price (78p is the cheapest that we could go without making a loss on an individual book but eBay's minimum selling price for Buy It Now is 99p). Postage is extra so that if you wish to buy a number of books then we can combine postage as efficiently as possible. We still have to work within the limitations of the Royal Mail but we'll do what we can to keep the postage low. The cheapest postage we've found for a single book is Royal Mail Small Parcel (currently at 2.99. online price). If the book happens to be really thin then maybe it could go as a Large Letter but this is quite rare, and then the price depends on the weight.
We'll only make a small profit, even if they sell whilst eBay have one of their cheap fees offers in place.
Why are we bothering? We don't want to throw away books and hope that others could enjoy them on a budget. And, more selfishly, it helps our seller stats.
Any books that don't sell after a sensible period will be given to charity.
We specialise in puzzles but also have a number of books and random items for sale
