Labyrinthe Musical – Jeu de Musiciens. Published by Maison Delvigne in Brussels in 1923. Extremely rare music game in which main musical themes are presented on small playing tablets and have to be identified by the players. Although the cover says „500 themes connus“ the complete game provides only 355 given musical themes from famous classical compositions (by Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc) and 45 blank playing tablets for own additions. In this item 26 of the 355 tablets are missing and 4 of the blank ones (exactly 1, 6, 26, 29, 31, 35, 50, 55, 58, 60, 87, 89, 93, 101, 116, 119, 123, 126, 131, 155, 185, 227, 250, 263, 270, 352, 364, 374, 375, 386 – the numbers are printed on the back of the tablets to look up the answer in the book of rules). The condition of the remaining tablets is generally fine, some are a bit foxed. The condition of the box is worse. The division of the box made from cardboard is complete, but in most cases loose. The top cover has 3 frames separated and 1 is missing. The box shows also some wear and small defects. Measures ca. 26x21x5 cm.

Extremely rare musical parlour game for players only that are well musically educated or familiar with the scores of the famous classical compositions. The Brussels Royal Conservatory Library holds a similar item, but I could not find other examples in public archives.
