Synopsis
In 997, Prince Geza passed away. His death caused tensions to arise during the funeral because, according to ancient customs, the eldest male member of the princely family, Koppany, was the rightful successor. Before his death, Geza urged the Hungarian nobles to choose his son, Istvan, as the prince according to Christian law. The rivalry between Istvan and Koppany threatened to escalate into a fratricidal war, despite the country and its people needing unity. This story has been brought to life through the collaboration of the Szeged National Theater and the Szeged Open-Air Theater Company.
