ILLUMINATED CARBON FIBER door sill plate compatible with any Gen 1 Audi R8, Coupe or Spyder, but designed for the 2012 Audi R8 GT. These illuminated GT Carbon Fiber door sills were an order option for the limited run of 333 Audi R8 GTs produced worldwide are EXTREMELY RARE. What a cool way to add that extra bit of flair to your R8! Great deal if you just need one since I don't have a matching right-side sill available.

Installation Notes:
The lighting connector tucks into a center hole beneath the trim. Simply push on the tab connecting the existing door sill to the car and then gently pull apart from one another; the new one will plug in easily, and you'll hear a click once they do. I think the door sill can still be installed even if your R8 doesn't have this lighting wire, and you might be able to run a wire to power it yourself if your car didn't have that option installed initially. I'm not a technician, so make sure you know what will be needed if you want it to light up and not be disappointed!
The existing trim (and this one) may be removed by using a small spatula or similar implement to unhook the front snaps on the outer-side of the car/bottom of the door sill. Some J-shaped hooks make for the interior-side/top row of attach points. When installing the door sill, make sure to line up these inner-side/top J-hooks first, then carefully but deliberately snap into place each of the snaps on the outer-side/bottom one by one, working from one side to the other. Be careful so as to not break loose any of the hooks, but replacing an existing door sill should take 15 minutes or less and is very straightforward once you get to it.
