FRANCE ANTIQUAIRES DE PICARDIE BRONZE MEDAL 1849 - 61 mm

1849 France - Antique Society (signed obverse: DEPAULIS F.; reverse: A.J. DEPAULIS GRAVEUR / T. CAUDRON SCULPTEUR..  Obverse: C. DUFRESNE DUCANGE NE A AMIENS LE 18 DEC. 1610 MORT A PARIS LE 23 OCT. 1688 - bust facing right.  Reverse: STATUE DE BRONZE ERIGEE PAR LA SOCIETE DES ANTIQUAIRES DE PICARDIE AVEC LE CONCOURS DE LA VILLE D'AMIENS ET DES SOUSCRIPTEURS 19 AOUT 1849 - statue with legends on ether side.  The translation loosely is: 'Charles Dufresne Du Cange born at Amiens the 18 Dec., 1610, died at Paris the 23 Oct. 1688.' That is on front, and on the back it is translated as: 'Statue in bronze erected by the Society of Antiquarians of Picardy with the assistance of the city of Amiens and of the subscribers 19 of August.  UNC, Copper, Plain smooth edge stamped with a pointing hand mint mark and the word CUIVRE.
