My Grandfather was born in 1869 and died in 1932 when my father was 11. I was told this violin was his father's, who was born in 1800. If anything.. the only true value is they were owned by a very famous man.

I had this one restrung as when I inherited it the strings were all broken. Also came with a black "coffin looking" violin box, which has fallen apart.
The tag inside reads: Antonius Stradivarius Cremonenlis Faciebat Anno 1735. I can't read the third number on the date. I'm guessing it's a 3.
Then there is a tiny circle with a circle inside with an A S with a cross on top.
