This is Prattware pot lid titled The Late Duke of Wellington Obit. Sept. 14th 1852. This version sees him wearing a blue sash and the lid itself has a reddish marbled border.

Comes in a painted black wooden frame of the Victorian - Edwardian period.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs, glazing errors, crazed glazing, and some discolouration etc.
There are some minor impact marks on the wooden frame and paper on the back is coming away from the wood.

If you are into the Duke of Wellington you may want to just browse my other items for a really fabulous UNIQUE scrap album which belonged to this chaps son the 2nd Duke of Wellington. His own album of letters, photographs and period items with some really terrific content.  Including the famous chap Charles Dickens and a Coutts & Co Bank cheque written out for £560 in 1824 by the chap on this pot lid The Duke of Wellington. Do have a look, I have photographed every page in the album for you to have a look at. You will NEVER see another album like this in a museum or anywhere.

Most of my items are sent using the Global Shipping Program due to Royal Mail being really quite useless at actually delivering parcels worldwide for the last 9 months, which gave me and my customers a truly diabolical service of which I am still chasing up delayed post.

Global Shipping Program does not allow coins to be sent which is a little bizarre, is that because they do NOT trust their own delivery people to keep charge of the packages whilst on route ? So coins will be sent using Royal Mail.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
