Seven original circa 1920's or so antique iron toy tools and a tin toy shovel. Included in the grouping are the following:

1. Three cast iron toy claw hammer heads in the 1 11/16 inch long size. One needs a wood shaft. Another is on an original wood shaft which has some loss at the bottom end. The third is on a shaft which needs some adjustment to fit correctly. One head has original superb condition nickel plating. Two have original nickel plating intermingled with light surface rust & age toning.

 2. One example of a 2 inch long toy iron claw hammer head. The nickel plated head is in superb condition. The wood shaft has developed a mellow patina from age.

3. Two cast iron toy claw hammer heads in the 2 1/8 inch long size. One has most of the original nickel plating present which has toned lightly from age. The other has a dark patina & appears to have never had any plating. Both need wood shafts.

4. A toy cast iron broad axe. The iron head is 2 1/16 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide. The length with the shaft is 4 1/2 inches. The shaft is broken & is missing a piece of wood off the bottom.

5. A miniature tin toy shovel which is 3 1/4 inches long. It has a dark patina & light surface rust.

6. Also included is a wood shaft which is for a toy hammer head of a larger size than any which are in this listing.

We do not know the maker or makers of these toy tools. There is some chance that the Arcade Toy Company of Freeport, Illinois made them. That is our first guess. However, there were several other toy companies working in the same period that are potentials for having made them. Some of the wood components have flaws. But, there are no cracks, no chips, & no repairs to any of the iron components.

The total weight of the eight toy tools is 9.8 ounces. We have had these in our antique toy parts box since the 1970's & finally figured it was time to sell them.

Please examine the photos closely & purchase based on your own judgement as to condition & value.
