This is a genuine Mother of Pearl "Gibson" Script inlay for restoration work. I've had these in my shop for years, and from a time when you could actually purchase these. I have a few available for sale and when they are gone they are gone!
These average 0.060" thick and they are made of solid mother of pearl. These are the best, most authentic looking pearl Gibson pre war like logos I've seen and they will work for guitars, style 75 banjos, top tension banjos and Lap Steel guitars beginning about 1936 through about 1943. Often the original pearl inlay were a little crude, and some were elegant. These logos I have for sale are on the more elegant side. These are almost impossible to find!
Some variations in script will naturally occur in old original work, as all of the originals were all hand cut, so these will not likely fit in the pocket of your instrument where the original pearl may be missing, but these are an extremely good likeness and size of the originals and these are the ONLY ones I have ever seen that actually look like the originals!
