PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING: I sell ONLY ORIGINAL items and NOT ANY reproductions. This sale is for one advertising BANK CHECK with a G type IMPRINTED REVENUE STAMP and it is from The FIRST NATIONAL BANK of ALBIA, IOWA during the year of 1877. This CHECK IS ON a PINKISH TYPE of PAPER but looks a bit brown in the scan. CHECK IS SIGNED IN LOWER RIGHT CORNER BY J. A. ( John A. ) DRAKE, The PRESIDENT of THE BANK. Check is made out to DR. J. C. MORRISON and is signed/endorsed as such on the back. Mr. Morrison transfers the value of the check (on the back) to J. C. AYER & COMPANY who, also, endorsed the back of the check. Across the bottom left edge, this check was printed by the Milwaukee Litho & Engraving Company
located in Wisconsin. Technically, I think this is called a DRAFT and not a check. Lower left corner shows the check to be drafted to the NINTH NATIONAL BANK of NEW YORK. This check is in very good condition with a formed cut cancel. The "EBAY ITEM" thing is just a loose piece of paper that is not attached to the check. If you have any questions, please contact me
