The Woods Ware company produced ‘Beryl’ , ‘Jasmine’ and ‘Iris’ to comply with strict manufacturing control in the 1940s. This design had clean lines and was both affordable and functional. It became a feature of homes and Village Halls up and down the country during wartime and for many years afterwards...well into the 1950s.

My dream of a 1940s cafe has been dashed ....so I am offering my huge (very huge) collection of ‘Beryl’ and ‘Iris’ to interested purchasers in differing lots. All will have to be collected personally or we can exchange at NEWARK Runway Monday or the IACF Antiques Fair….I will not post or courier. This is just too good to risk breakage. In great, pre owned condition but as all crockery from this era it may have been used on a daily basis and, as such, may show minor utensil marks. Minor manufacturing flaws and slight differences in colour may also be present. No cracks, crazing or chips that I have noticed though. I collected my huge stock very carefully…if I wasn’t happy using the crockery it didn’t get bought! …..so, 18 pieces of lovely BERYL ….
