Based on Toten-nåla. A bronze needle derived from a burial mound discovery made on the farm Evang at Lena in Østre Toten municipality around 1870. The needle, which is currently used on the Toten suit, is a reduced reproduction, and one expects it to date from 1300-1100 BC, The original bronze jewelry plate had a cross dimension of 13 cm and was carried under the belt.

Following an idea from the Østre Toten Farmer's Women's Association and museum manager Pål Gihle at Toten Museum presented this copy to goldsmith Odd Westby at Lena, as jewelry for the Totendrakta. For the suit, vest buttons and cufflinks are also used. The model and production were carried out by jeweler Jens Erik Jensen, Drøbak, who sand-molds the needle to bring out the old structure.
