The El Pinto family restaurant has been in operation since 1962, making delectable salsa for years. In 1994, twin brothers, Jim and John Thomas, bought the restaurant from their parents. Less than a decade later, the brothers responded to the requests of thousands of customers by creating El Pinto’s salsa division which allowed for their salsa to be sold separately and outside the restaurant. Jim and John soon became known as the “Salsa Twins.” Their first production site consisted of a mere 35-gallon kettle and a pump in their restaurant’s kitchen. They now have the capacity and space to make 3 to 4 million jars a year! What makes our salsa so special is that most of our chiles come exclusively from Hatch, New Mexico because of their world-renowned chile peppers.
