Great antique folk art wood carving of Boss Tweed from New York City by C. J. Trygg in great all original paint, patina and condition.

This is a very nice example with lots of interesting carving and painted details.

The carving of Boss tweed is about 10 1/2" high, the bottom reads "C. J. Trygg 1928".
C. J. Trygg was born Carl Johan Trygg.

Boss Tweed was a tyrant politician in the Tammany Hall area of New York City. He was convicted of stealing millions of dollars from the local citizens and died in prison in 1878.

This is a wonderful example and historically important carving.

 You will not be disappointed!
