This is a genuine collector's bit and the outside of the left shank is stamped with his maker's mark "DH" as shown in the photos. The shanks measure 7 inches long and the mouthpiece is 5 inches wide by 3/8 inch in diameter. The bit weighs 11.5 ounces so it is a very nice light bit for a young or green horse moving from the snaffle to a shanked bit.
