Here is a clever way to set the Carrier signal to a given frequency: plug a standard audio headphone in to the ear clip jack ( most head phones have a 3.5 mm plug ) . Set the Modulation to 0.5 Hz ( this will allow you to hear the Carrier for one second and then one second of silence, then repeated ). Turn the Amplitude to a comfortable level so as to be able to hear the Carrier frequency...it will be normal to only hear from one side of the headphone. Now , using your computer, go to any on-line signal generator site...such as https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/. Set the desired frequency and adjust your computer's sound system to a comfortable level. Adjust the Carrier setting knob on the BT11 to cause the same frequency in your headset, as you are hearing from your computer....like tuning a guitar or piano with a tuning fork.
To understand "carrier" and "modulation", imagine an organ key being played. For example middle C is 440 Hz. As long as the key is held down, the note heard is the 440 Hz tone. This tone , in this example , is our "Carrier". Now the organist, being very talented, will hold the key down for ONE second, then release the key for ONE second, then repeat the pattern by holding down the key for One second. The interval from the initial pressing of the key until it is pressed again is HALF a HERTZ, or 0.5 Hz...it occurs in 2 seconds. This is our "modulation".
Researching the published info on various CES devices reveals that there are many different carrier and modulation frequencies available. Bob Beck mentions in his Protocol Handbook that 1000 Hz is the "magic" number. There is a product on the market called "the Bumblebee". Their advert states that their carrier is 909 Hz. There are google results that indicate that the frequency to "awaken the pituitary gland" is 852 Hz. During our R&D, we were in communication with previous customers, who suggested that the carrier be adjustable, as it could not be determined which one frequency would be the best....so we did...we made it adjustable from 840 to 1000, so as to please all the desired frequency settings. Only your research will determine where you choose to set it.
The Power Knob is identical in circuit and function as the BT-5, which is detailed in The Bob Beck protocol Handbook at the top of page 73.

It is normal to experience skin irritation from the ear clips in the course of using these type of devices. The irritation can be diminished by using pieces of cotton cut from a "facial cleanser make up pad" and soaked in salt water , then placed between the metal electrode of the ear clip and the user's skin. We include a "facial cleanser pad" with each shipment.
