A collectible 1st generation alarm wristwatch from the late 1940s early 50's in very good original condition that has not much suffered throughout - Fairly large case with 36mm diameter & 10.5mm depth - Double spring barrel Baumgartner 17 jewels manual wind movement calibre 90 with two-winding round indicator apertures blue red white - While winding indicators rotate when a barrel is full with the upper showing time & the lower one shows the alarm power status - From a former watch store that closed down about 20 years ago & has been stored in the drawer ever since - I have not attempted to open the back case however will do so when requested - 18mm lugs size on an old stock brown leather strap that's weathered with cracks belly side from dryness (included) Replacement strap recommended - Original factory pleasing dial Basis Alarm 17 Jewels Antimagnetic Swiss Made showing even patina with sweep second hand - Scratch free plexi glass - Case with light surface marks shows only normal wear commensurate with age & less than standard use & in great shape retaining all its crisp angles - The chrome milled coin-edged bezel is reminiscent of a 1930s "Military Aviator" wrist watch rotates bi-directionally to set the alarm with stepped oblong slide pusher at the left side of the case up ^ for the alarm is on & down v for off - These early alarm watches were sold with several different variations & names such as 'Sheffield' in the US UK - Good running condition monitored for 24 hours & kept time within 15 minutes & alarm functions properly as it should with a reverberating buzzing sound
