You are bidding on about 30 AMUR LILAC TREE SEEDS  - Syringa reticulata amurensis .

This is a tree lilac that typically grows as a small tree or large shrub. In tree form, it typically grows to as much as 30’ tall and 20’ wide with an oval-rounded crown.

Its best ornamental feature is its showy, fragrant, creamy white flowers that bloom in upright panicles to 12” long in late spring to early summer (later than most other lilac species).

Flowers give way to loose clusters of brown capsules that persist into winter. Reddish-brown peeling bark is attractive on younger branches, gradually turning gray with age. Sharply tipped, lanceolate to ovate, dark green leaves (to 6” long).

Syringa reticulata subsp. amurensis is native to Korea and eastern Russia and is commonly called Amur tree lilac or Amur lilac.

Medicinal use of Lilac:

The leaves and the fruit are antiperiodic, febrifuge, tonic and vermifuge. The bark or leaves have been chewed by children as a treatment for sore mouth.

Edible parts of Lilac:

Flowers - raw or folded into batter and fried to make fritters.

Other uses :

An essential oil is obtained from the flowers. Used in perfumery. A green dye is obtained from the flowers. Green and brown dyes can be obtained from the leaves. A yellow-orange dye is obtained from the twigs. Plants can be grown as an informal hedge. The plant is often used as a root stock for the various ornamental cultivars of lilac. Its main disadvantage is that it can sucker very freely .
