Norman Rockwell, "A Boy Meets His Dog",  from the Puppy Love Portfolio.

Originally used for a 1958 Brown & Bigelow calendar, this twelve-color lithograph, measuring 20 by 21-1/3 inches, is one of four lithographs in a specially designed portfolio. This is one of the L/E of 700.

The Puppy Love portfolio expresses Rockwell’s fondness for the ordinary. "I know now that all I need in my work is at hand," he said. "The commonplaces of America are to me the richest subjects in art. Boys batting flies on vacant lots; little girls playing jacks on the front steps; old men plodding home at twilight, umbrellas in hand all of these things arouse feeling in me."
