This is a very rare copy of the 1st edition of Immanuel Kant’s magnum opus on anthropology, which before him was not taken to constitute a philosophical subject or intellectual field of study. It was published in Königsberg (Kaliningrad), where Kant was the chief philosophy professor, in 1798. It was among Kant’s books because he died in 1804. The title translates into English as “Anthropology from a Pragmatic Perspective.”

The binding has come loose, but the pages are all intact and look unread.
