French Antique Hand Carved Newel Post Finial Fleur de Lis Polychrome Wood 19thC
A beautiful French wooden, hand carved finial. It has a beautiful Fleur de Lis design and a lovely polychrome finish to the wood.
This is a salvaged ornament and would look amazing as a newel post finial on a staircase.
The finial was probably made in the late 18th century or early 19th century, in France.
Dimensions:
Height finial, without mounting pin: about 7 inch or 17.8 cm
Dimensions bottom of finial: about 2 1/2 inch x 2 1/2 inch or 6.4 x 6.4 cm
Condition: Good antique salvaged condition. Some very minimal surface wear to the wood and paint. There is a opening in the top, connecting to the opening on the bottom and a tiny opening on the side, which was perhaps used for lamp wire at some time. See the
