This is a gorgeous Vintage Sterling Silver Overlay browband ranch versatility style show headstall made by Broken Horn of Baldwin Park, CA. The headstall features stunning jewelers bronze embellished silver buckles, and an engraved "V" silver browband. The close up photos of the back of the buckle shows the markings "STERLING OVERLAY" and "BROKEN HORN". This is a basket weave stamped headstall and features two absolutely stunning sterling silver overlay cart buckles with tips. The leather is in well maintained condition and has just enough silver to show off your horse's beautiful head, but not so much as to look out of place in the Ranch classes. There is a minor crack on the very largest throatlatch adjustment hole that does not affect the usability of the headstall. Quality headstalls like this one were set with the silver mounted within the leather, instead of utilizing chicago screws, which was starting to become prevalent in the early 1980's.
The headstall is 5/8" wide and adjusts from to 33 inches long at the shortest set of holes to 42 inches long at the last set of holes with room to punch one more set if needed.
