GORGEOUS TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY TRUE AMBERINA GLASS VASE
Measures approximately 9 1/2" high by 4 1/2" wide.
Excellent original condition with no chips or cracks. Four-part glass. This is truly a wonderful, old amberina vase. The upper part of the vase came out of the factory not quite completely upright on the base - see photos. This is the real deal and has wonderful original character.
Amberina
glass is glass that ranges in colors from yellow at the top to red at the
bottom, or vice-versa. It is created by mixing a compound including gold into
the glass and reheating it before letting it cool completely, causing changes
to the color of the glass.
Joseph Locke and Edward D. Libby were the first to patent this style/color of
glass in 1883 in America.
