William Elphinstone Underwood (1803 – 1874)

William was born in 1803 in Westminster, London, England.

He was the son of John Underwood (1774 – 1839) and Camilla Steele (1776 – 1849).

He worked for the Indian Civil Service.

He married Magdalene Thompson (1806 – 1882) in 1828 in Madras, India.

They had 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys.

Willam died on 19th Jan 1874 (aged 70) at 3 St Stephens Crescent, Westbourne Park, London.
