Up for bid is a SIKORSKY * 1997 LIMITED EDITION 631/1000 * S-51 * THE FIRST HELICOPTER NAVAL RESCUE ART PRINT * Print size is 23x29.5 * This print is Second in a series by the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives. The print is in Near MINT condition, but it has a 3/8" very slight tear at the bottom but it has no other creases, no rips, no folds, no wrinkles, no bends, or any other kind of damage whatsoever. I am the original owner it has been rolled in a tube for years. This print was purchased by me from the Sikorsky Historical Archive in Stratford Connecticut years ago. I was there personally for Joseph Keogan to sign it for me. This print was signed twice the original signature and the signature in black was when I had it signed. These prints were in my personal collection, my collection got too big, so I am thinning the herd some. Print will be shipped in shipping tube.

Joe Keogan is from Huntington Connecticut. He served in the USAF for four years before joining Sikorsky Aircraft. He worked as an electronic technician at night while attending Paier College of Art by day. As soon as he graduated in 1964, he was transferred to the Engineering Department as an artist, illustrating many engineering projects from various groups within the department. In 1970 he transferred to the Advanced Design Group, continuing to do art and aircraft illustrations as well as conceptual design. He also worked on major full-scale mockup models for evaluation. He qualified for a certificate in Helicopter Conceptual design and was a team member for many of the Sikorsky family of helicopters before retiring in September 1999. Art permeates his life. He also paints fine art at his studio in Huntington and has received recognition and numerous awards for his realistic style of paintings. Doing heritage paintings in his studio falls right in line with his latest work with the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives where he serves on the Board of Directors.
