Early Vintage Nora Wellings Cloth Sailor Doll

highly collectible vintage 1950s Steamship Souvenir Sailor Doll

"Jolly Boy" and similar style sailor dolls were made popular in the late 1920's by Norah Wellings. They were later produced by Peggy Nisbit during the sixties and into the eighties. These cute little sailor boys were novelty souvenirs for cruise ships who sold them to passengers to commemorate their trip. 

Cloth Doll hand painted face. The doll is actually in very good condition for its age but does have soiling and needs a cleaning. Sailor is missing his hat. No markings on doll of Nora Wellings but is obvious this is a Nora Welling doll. Doll Measures approxmailty 14" tall Doll sold as pictured.
