You have found the missing piece to your silverware collection! Here is an antique George III sterling silver oval vinaigrette from Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham, England. The pattern features a checker design on the top. The inner box is gilded, and it has a screen that opens. It is stamped twice inside the box. The lid has the maker mark for Samuel Pemberton and the lower box has the same maker mark with a Birmingham date mark of 1802. It weighs 9 grams in total and has a monogram on the lid. The box is 3/4" by 1 1/8" across by 3/8" high and in very good preowned condition. It does have wear & scratches from use.
