A bit of personal history about old Advertising Trade Cards, Scrapbook Cutouts, Die Cuts, Lithos, Chromolithographs etc.

My mother and grandmother grew up poor, as did many others who endured the Great Depression.  These hard times made them cherish even the smallest “gifts,” including these wonderful trade cards, that companies gave away.

In the notebook/scrapbook my mother put together of her most treasured trade cards and die cuts she wrote, “I think I could sit and look at this book all day.”  It wasn’t just the beautiful artistry companies put in to their advertisements, it was the memories and feelings they evoked, such as the taste of coffee brewed on a wood stove, or the smell of her mother’s perfume or laundry soap.

While I will never sell my mother’s cherished trade cards, I have had the opportunity to find more in the many estate sales and auctions I have frequented, and I am happy to be able to offer them to you so you can experience the same joys my mother and so many others of bygone eras.
