18th / 19th Century Ares / Mars & Athena Gold & Shell Cameo Brooches 

These are 2 Italian gold mounted cameo brooches, the first depicting Ares / Mars the God of war, probably late 18th century, the latter depicting Athena, both very fine pieces. Both test as 9 carat gold.

CONDITION The Ares brooch is chipped to the left & right border - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
