On May 10, 1892 the horse railway was put into commission in Minsk. It was operated almost 40 years. On the basis of a horse tram a more modern transport — electric tram was created.
On 3 March a permanent exposition "Minsk Horse Railway" was opened in the Museum of History of Minsk. It presents unique exhibits reflecting the formation and development of public transport of the city.
