The 3010 speakers have been made slightly taller and 25% deeper than former models, to allow for an increase in low frequency response and produce an impressive large scale sound. Due to the larger depth, any reflections from cone generated noise are greatly reduced. In addition, the crossover of the 3010 has been revised, in order to make better use of the larger cabinet. This means enhanced sensitivity and more bass extension.
The Q Acoustics 3010 produce a high quality sound with a 100mm, and a 22mm, precision drivers, with the mid/bass driver constructed of impregnated and coated paper and a low-hysteresis rubber surround, preventing unwanted frequencies accurately. The high frequency driver is isolated from the bass driver, allowing a better performance with heavily reduced interference.
The newly designed low profile binding posts of the 3010 give the speaker a greater structural integrity, and have sockets that will accept 4mm banana plugs. Q Acoustics’ P2P (Point to Point) bracing supports parts of the enclosure that need to be stiffened, with added rigidity, improving the focus of the stereo field.
The 3010i Speakers can be placed easily on a shelf with pre-fitted rubber feet, or are stand mountable or wall mountable with additional stands and brackets purchased. The speakers feature magnetic speaker grilles, and an attractive chrome bezel around each driver.
