Description This is for a tested and working AMD Radeon HD 7970 3 GB PCIe 2.0 video card for use with the Apple Mac Pro tower 2008-2012 (3,1 to 5,1) with Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. This video card uses the same AMD reference design board as the official 7950 Mac Edition, ensuring full compatibility. The only difference is the appearance of the plastic cover over the heat sink. It is a drop-in plug&play upgrade for all Mac Pro 4,1 and 5,1 models running 10.7.5 or later. For the Mac Pro 3,1 you will need to use an SSE4.2 emulator patch for Mojave (10.14) and later. Many of the installation patch tools (like Mojave Patcher) include an SSE4.2 emulator. Metal is supported, allowing you to run Mac OS Mojave (10.14) and later on Mac Pro models that support it.It has one DVI output, one HDMI output, and two mini-DisplayPort outputs. All outputs work fully and display boot video. It's compatible with EFI 64 Mac Pros. Condition It has been tested for and is guaranteed to work properly. The fan is clean and quiet.
