I do not recognize the maker or user of this coin related piece - please educate me if you know what it is for.

As much as I think I know about jukeboxes this has me mystified.  It screams jukebox at me and seems to mount on the front edge of a curved surface.  It is dime play for one selection so it must be 1948 or newer.

It is brass with a chrome finish.

I'm stumped, please help if you can.
