This drum is made from Reindeer rawhide which has been stitched to a hoop made from a single piece of solid, steam bent Willow. The handle has been made from two pieces of Alder collected from the riverbank at the edge of our garden, which have been secured to the hoop using rawhide from the same skin as the drum head.
The Reindeer hide was sourced from a trader in Finland and originated from a herd managed by Sami Reindeer herders.
This is my favourite style of shamanic drum because the open back allows the sound vibrations to flow from the drum without obstruction or interference.
The drum will be supplied with a felted beater, chosen to bring out the best sounds and a care advice leaflet. She is ready to support and guide you on your journey and bring healing.
