This is a gold plated vermeil 5" scoop marked TIF(FANY &) CO MAKERS STERLING. The ornate 3D handle depicts a squirrel, acorns, oak leaves and branches. The 2 3/4" wide bowl is a stylized acorn. It is nicely inscribed in the bowl "1859 O'M 1909", perhaps for "O'Malley". I first thought this might be a tea caddy scoop or bon bon. There are, however, just a few Tiffany items out there with this same handle, and all are nut picks. There are also a few Tiffany squirrel themed bowls, attributed to John C. Moore circa 1870 and two smaller nut dishes. The two nut picks I found for sale were priced $325 and $500. Replacements has two Tiffany vermeil bon bon spoons in an unnamed pattern priced $2,800 each, a small Tiffany Vine pattern nut spoon for $750 and a Vine tea caddy spoon for $750.
Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
