Very Rare, Original Antique Envelope That Held Official Soldier's Vote Tally Sheet of Results from 1864 Presidential Election,

Army of the Cumberland, Nashville, Tenn.

DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....An extremely rare, 1-of-a-kind MUSEUM QUALiTY piece for a serious collector.

Hand written on front in period ink is "PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION" and below is "TALLY SHEET". Addressed to "CLERK OF THE COURT OF PORTAGE COUNTY, OHIO". Postmarked "Nashville, November 15, '64", so corresponds to Lincoln's second election. Also written in ink is "FILED NOV. 18, 1864". 

THIS TALLY SHEET WAS FOR THE SOLDIER VOTE: On the reverse in pencil is "SOLDIER'S VOTE TALLY SHEET" and "ARMY OF THE CUMBERLAND AT NASHVILLE DURING NASHVILLE CAMPAIGN".

Interesting that it does not have a stamp and is marked with a postage due "DUE 6" stamp next to the postmark!!

It is in excellent condition. This just the envelope that held the original tally, but not the tally itself.

Standard period cover, measuring 3 1/4" x 5 1/2".
