This is a "lock nut" as described by SONY to replace a lost or damaged one on you camcorder.

If you receive a C:31:23, C:31:22, C:31:11, C:31:30 or C:31:32 error on you Hi8 or Mini DV camcorder (many models) this means the pinch roller has become mis aligned. The plastic lock nut is prone to splitting down the middle or sliding off or letting the pinch roller (that I do NOT sell) fall off.

This is such a common problem, I personally think they should have recalled all affected camcorders. There are many videos on YouTube on how to do this repair, but I had to search many tubes to find the one that would work. You take this 3mm long piece of tubing and push it onto the spindle pin that holds the pinch roller (again I do NOT sell the pinch roller itself), see my picture for the installed red tube on my camcorder.

This is only the red locknut repair part, no other parts, pieces, tools or instructions.

Again, this means I do NOT have the rubber pinch roller for your model. All you receive is (1) Red Plastic Lock Nut.

The white one shown is a genuine SONY part from my camcorder that I replaced, it is only shown for comparison. The new red one I ship has a thicker wall and is stronger.

Feel confident buying from an eBayer since 2000 with 100% positive feedback!

Attention!!! I have (1) known non-compatible model number! HDR-FX1, thanks for stryderkid for letting me know.

If you do not read this detailed description and are not aware that this doesn't include the rubber pinch roller itsef it is not my fault, and doesn't require me to issue a refund. I offer no guarantees, if you cannot install yourself, or if you loose pieces bought or original, it's not my liability and does not constitue a refund or replacement of your camcorder. If you cannot find the pinch roller, do not expect a refund.

I do my best to cut the pieces to 3mm long to match the original genuine Sony part from my unit. Don't make acusations that my pieces don't match the description or are broken and doesn't constitue a refund.

I will not mail in standard envelope. It will damage mail processing equipment. These require packing in a small manila envelope and placed between two pieces of cardboard and then placed into another larger manila envelope.

If you are a shop, I have a bulk quantity listing. Check my other listing for it.
