Antique and vintage items make nicer than new gifts

This is a lovely Mid 20th Century period piece in an unusual abstract narrow panel design that morphs into a petal-like cascade or 'melt'. It has been created in an attractive pale shade of transparent green.

Competition was intense between UK and European glassmakers during this period when they produced affordable popular glassware in a wide range of similar, but different shapes and sizes; accurate identification of a maker can be difficult. There is a clue on the base with a round raised maker's marked that reads 'Foreign'. Our guess is that it was produced in Germany or Austria between the wars or in the 1940s-50s post war years when anonymity was thought to be wise!

Condition? This sort of pressed glass vase was bought to be used and not to sit in a display cabinet, but it remains in very good condition and as the photographs show it displays well. There are no chips or cracks
