Here's a clean country oak 2pc Dutch cupboard from the 1880's that just came in to the warehouse. It's in great condition and was refinished about 40 or 50 years ago. The drawers are square nailed construction and are not worn out.  People often ask, why do you call this a Dutch cupboard and not a step back cupboard? Almost 50 years ago an old time dealer mentor of mine said that if the 2 piece cupboard has a "pie shelf", that open area between the top of the base and the bottom of the top, it's called a Dutch cupboard. When there is no pie shelf, it's a step back cupboard. (Some say set back cupboard.) In any case, a so-called Dutch cupboard is also a step back cupboard ! Maybe that's more than you needed to know about this piece of furniture. This cupboard is as found original and has the inset brass slide latches with little Bennington type knobs--cool.  There are 2 stationary shelves in the top and one in the base. The inside and backboards have been painted white. This cupboard measures 44.5 inches wide X 7 foot 2 inches tall X 19.5 inches deep at the base and 13 inches deep at the top. I'm pleased to be able to offer this country Dutch cupboard at this price. It's worth a trip to come and pick it up. What a great value that will last your lifetime !
