A Grandmother teaches her grandchildren to have fun while cooking, listening, and learning.
Ga'er (Grandmother) does it all, whether scaling the side of a ship, pretending to be a pirate, fighting wacky pizza dough, or looking for a mountain kitty, her tales of humor, learning, adventures, and guidance provide an opportunity to know Ga'er through the eyes and spirit of loving grandchildren. Keeping Up With Ga'er promises to delight the grandchildren in each of us.
Genie Byrd's writings inspired her love for education and family, her strong faith, her deep sense of sharing a legacy with the next generation, and her roots in Hemingway, South Carolina. Now a retired teacher, counselor, and school principal, Genie continues her love of teaching through writing children's books, sharing activities with her grandchildren, teaching piano, and speaking for women's conferences. She and her husband James live in Evans, Georgia, and feel blessed to have a son and two daughters who have enriched their lives with twelve grandchildren.
