Offered here is an Engraved Copper Printing Plate .
This is pictorial and has an ensign flag over a scroll which reads St Petersburg Express Line .
This was a Shipping Line that had associations with Kingston Upon Hull .
We believe this was used to apply the transfer on Hotel Ware or China ware used by the shipping line .
The Stamp is the correct way around ( not a mirror image ) , so we are unsure if our assumption is correct .
If anyone can confirm how this was used exactly it would be appreciated .
We are offering a number of other copper plates advertising old shipping lines in separate listings .
The entire piece measures 112 x 112 Millimetres and is made from 3 mm gauge copper .
We guesstimate this is Antique and dates to circa 1910 to 1920 .
We can’t find anything about this Company but we believe it was a Shipping Line or Railway related .
Please see our other plates , we believe they are unique .
Most of the plates relate to companies that had associations with Hingston Upon Hull , on the River Humber or Humber Estuary in East Yorkshire.
A great piece for anyone interested in Shipping Lines , or marine , maritime and nautical Antiques and memorabilia or the Merchant Navy.
Good Luck
