Mead Pocket Style ~ 1960’s Herb or Postal Weight Scale Accurate to Better than 1/4 Gram ~ Up to 3 ½ Oz This little postal pocket scale is surprisingly accurate! Metric or English. Measures up to 3 ½ ounces or 100 Grams. This very accurate scale measures in ¼ gram increments. Ideal for the legal cannabis or mail. It is a springless scale, using the geometry of a moving pivot against a calibrated dead weight to weigh your item! It’s all very scientific, but in the 1800’s they called this a Styllyard Scale. Extremely accurate. You just clip on what you want to weigh, hold it up and read the weight. The photos show it with 4 quarters clipped on. Looks like they weigh a little over ¾ of an ounce or 22 ½ Grams. You read the weight on the scale under the pointer at the top in the middle of the heart shaped ring. The scale shows the quarters weigh just over ¾ of an ounce. The other side of the scale is Metric and reads in grams. It shows about 22 ½ grams. It comes in a small pocket pouch only 4 by 2 ½ inches. Made by Mead, known for their accurate scientific measuring instruments. The postage rate card that comes with it says First Class postal Rates are 13¢ up to an ounce. That dates this in the mid 1960’s. Made in Hong Kong. Accurate, No Rust, unsold dime store merchandise still mounted on its 8 by 3½ inch store display card. Ideal for portable, accurate weighing.
