Rare, VERY EARLY, Large French Antique Wood Engraved Print, c.1780-1800 

Made c.1780-1800, based on the paper, the clothing/3 cornered hats on the men, and the print details itself.  It was done on thick, HAND MADE PAPER, and the vertical lines are visible in the light as shown in my scans.  Also, the paper has a beautiful, large watermark, also shown in my scans.

Shows people and carriages, etc. in front of the huge building.  May have been lightly tinted at one time, since the carriage and some of the coats on the people have hints of red color.

Title and engraver, etc., are all French, as well as the subject matter.  Measures about 11" x 15".   A gorgeous large piece, quite suitable for framing.
