  • Acacia Gum (Acacia Senegal)
    this golden yellow resin has a ‘glassy look’ and a light, woody fragrance when burnt. It derives from several species of acacia that mostly grow as thorny bushes and are native to the arid regions of North Africa.

    Gum Acacia has excellent binding properties and is very useful as a fixative for more volatile substances such as essential oils. It is used in incense blends intended for protection, healing, fertility and prosperity and is useful for spiritual grounding.

    The Acacia Gum granules have an average size of between 6 - 16mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Acacia Gum.

  • Almond Gum (Prunus dulcis)
    Almond gum is the natural gum obtained from the sweet almond tree. Almond tree resin collects in the form of tears. The ancient Greeks burned the resin to ward off evil spirits and disease, as the fine fragrance disinfects, purifies and clarifies.

    It is also known as Badam Gondh or Badam Pisin.

    The Almond Gum granules have an average size of between 8 - 18mm. There is very little powder in Almond Gum.

  • Amber - Golden | Honey | Rose
    Amber Resin is delightfully aromatic intoxicating the senses with it’s wonderfully rich scent. Because of it’s divine fragrance, it has been considered as a sacred temple powder often referred to as “Nectar of the Gods” or “Ambrosia”.

    The Amber granules have an average size of between 10 - 20mm. There is some powder in the Amber.

  • Benzoin (Styrax benzoin)
    Benzoin or benjamin is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees in the genus Styrax. It is used in perfumes, some kinds of incense, as a flavoring, and medicine.

    Benzoin is sometimes called gum benzoin or gum benjamin, and in India Sambrani or loban, though loban is, via Arabic lubān, a generic term for frankincense-type incense, e.g., fragrant tree resin. Benzoin is also called storax, not to be confused with the balsam of the same name obtained from the Hamamelidaceae family.

    In perfumery, benzoin is used as a fixative, slowing the dispersion of essential oils and other fragrance materials into the air. Benzoin is used in cosmetics, veterinary medicine, and scented candles. It is used as a flavoring in alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, baked goods, chewing gum, frozen dairy, gelatins, puddings, and soft candy.

    Benzoin Kani grade (Styrax benzoin) is ideal for making incense. It is mostly in a powder form which makes it easy to blend with other ingredients and to roll into incense sticks or cones.

    The Benzoin Kani is mostly powder and any chunks will break down easily.


    Benzoin Siam (Styrax tonkinensis)
    is obtained from Styrax tonkinensis, found across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam

    The Benzoin Siam granules have an average size of between 8 - 16mm. There is very little powder in the Benzoin Siam.

  • Benzoin Sumatra (Styrax benzoin) is obtained from Styrax benzoin, which grows predominantly on the island of Sumatra. Unlike Siamese benzoin, Sumatran benzoin contains cinnamic acid in addition to benzoic acid.

    The Benzoin granules have an average size of between 4 - 8mm and also have a fair amount of smaller particles down to powder.

    Benzoin Kori Loban Sambrani
    This Kori Loban is a composite resin made mostly from Sumatran Benzoin, but it is blended with Pine Resin, Gum Dammar and Frangrances to produce this Loban, or Sambrani.

    Loban, or Sambrani is burned daily in many Indian households. It is used to cleanse the air, calms the nerves and induces tranquility. It is often used to prepare oneself for prayer. It is also used to dry and fragrance your hair.

  • Copal Resin
    White Copal (Copaifera officinalis)
    Copal is a resin that is produced from plant sap usually from the genus Copaifera. Copal or Copalite are organic resins that aren’t old enough to have hardened and fossilized enough to become Amber. Copal has been used as incense throughout history and has a rich, earthy scent much like Frankincense.

    The White Copal granules have an average range in size from 8 - 16mm. There is a small amount of powder in the White Copal.

    Black Copal (Protium paniculatum)
    Black Copal is used as a traditional incense used in ceremonies/rituals and the home. It is also used in traditional medicine, dissolved in oil for a broad range of skin-related problems. Like most tree resins, Protium Paniculatum has a deep affinity with the skin.

    If used in skincare, cosmetics or therapeutic products, the resin can be ground and infused in a warm carrier oil in a water-bath. Once it has given itself to the oil, the infusion can be sedimented and filtered to provide a healing aromatic base for creams, salves, lotions, ointments and medicated oils. This oil infusion can also be used in the creation of solid perfumes.

    As an incense, Protium Paniculatum resin burns with a pleasant caramel, fruity, green fragrance with light floral notes.

    The Black Copal comes in chunks with an average size of between 8 - 16mm. There is a fair amount of powder in the Black Copal.

  • Damar Batu (Dipterocarp sp.)
    Damar Batu is a yellowish- brown colored, stoned-shaped hard resin, obtained form a particular variety of the dipterocarp species.

    The resin is obtained through collection of the hardened resin exudates, lying below the ground in fossilized form, close to the tree roots. The collected resin is then scraped using iron bristled brushes to remove mud and dirt residue and then sun dired.

    Indonesia is by far the largest sources of internationally traded Damar Batu. Here it is found mainly is South Sumatra and Kalimantan. Some damar batu varieties are also obtained from Vietnam, Cambodia and laos.

    Damar batu is used in the manufacture of inks, polishes, varnishes, water-resistant coatings and injection moulding materials.

    In countries like India and Bangladesh, Damar Batu is used for caulking boats and baskets.

    In India, Damar batu is also used as incense and sometimes as a natural mosquito repellent. It has also been used as an intermediates in the traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine.

    The Damar Batu granules have an average size of between 10 - 20mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Damar Batu.

  • Dragon's Blood (Dracaena sp.)
    We have 3 grades of Dragon's Blood, Dragon's Blood - A Grade, the purest form of Dragon's Blood, Dragon's Blood - B Grade which has some impurities in it, and Dragon's Blood - Blend which is Frankincense coated in Dragon's Blood.

    Dragon’s Blood resin has a strong herbal and spicy fragrance.

    The resin is extracted from many different tropical tree species commonly called dragon trees. These may come from the plant groups Croton, Pterocarpus, Daemonorops, or Dracaena.

    Dragon’s blood resin has been used for thousands of years in India as part of rituals to drive evil and negativity away.

    The Dragon's Blood granules have an average size of between 6 - 12mm.

  • European Spruce (Picea abies)
    This Spruce Resin has be hand picked from the forests of Lithuania.

    Resin from the Eurpoean spruce (Picea abies) is traditionally used in folk medicine to heal skin ulcers and infected wounds. It has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties make it effective against infected skin wounds.

    Picea abies, the Norway spruce or European spruce,[ is a species of spruce native to Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. It has branchlets that typically hang downwards, and the largest cones of any spruce, 9–17 cm (3 1/2–6 3/4 in) long. It is very closely related to the Siberian spruce (Picea obovata), which replaces it east of the Ural Mountains, and with which it hybridises freely. The Norway spruce is widely planted for its wood, and is the species used as the main Christmas tree in several cities around the world. It was the first gymnosperm to have its genome sequenced. The Latin specific epithet abies means “fir-like”

    The European Spruce granules have an average size of between 10 - 20mm. There is a small amount of powder in the European Spruce.

  • Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)
    Frankincense is an aromatic resin used in incense and perfumes, obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia in the family Burseraceae, particularly Boswellia Boswellia sacra (syn. B. bhaw-dajiana), B. carterii, B. frereana, B. serrata (B. thurifera, Indian frankincense), and B. papyrifera. The word is from Old French franc encens (‘high-quality incense’).

    Frankincense has a “magical” reputation – especially in the Middle East – believed to enhance communication. There are over 52 references to it in the Bible. In Ayurvedic medicine, Frankincense has been used for arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, asthma, dysentery, diarrhoea, jaundice, inflammatory skin diseases and ulcers.

    Actions include: anti-inflammatory, expectorant, diuretic, analgesic, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-arthritic.

    Frankincense has a pleasant, sweet and woody odor.

    The small Frankincense granules range in size from 4-6mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Frankincense.
    The medium Frankincense granules range in size from 6-13mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Frankincense.
    The large Frankincense granules range in size from 8-20mm.
    There is a small amount of powder in the Frankincense.

  • Black Gum Arabic (Acacia Senegal) Kenya

  • Gum Arabic (Senegalia senegal)
    Gum arabic, also known as gum sudani, acacia gum, Arabic gum, gum acacia, acacia, Senegal gum, Indian gum, and by other names, is a natural gum consisting of the hardened sap of two species of the acacia (sensu lato) tree, Acacia senegal (now known as Senegalia senegal) and Vachellia (Acacia) seyal.

    The Gum Arabic granules have an average size of between 8 - 16mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Gum Arabic.

  • Gum Dammar (Dipterocarpaceae sp.)
    Gum Dammar is an all natural product derived from the sap of the Dipterocarpaceae family of trees.

    Gum Dammar is used as an ingredient in the popular Beeswax Food Wraps, mixed with beeswax and jojoba oil. Dammar is also used in foods, as a clouding or glazing agent, and in incense, varnish, paint making, encaustic paints and other products.

    Dammar Gum is used as a raw material in the production of high end dyes and paints. In India, Dammar gum is used as incense in religious rites and has applications in the traditional Indian medicine. Its water repulsing and binding properties enables Dammar gum to be used as a coating agent.

    Dammar resin, also known as cat-eye resin, lifts the spirit and brings light to the darkness of the soul. Dammar resin is particularly useful to combat sadness, depression and melancholy.

    The Gum Dammar granules range in size from 6 - 16mm and will have a fair amount of smaller particles and some powder.

  • Gum Karaya (Sterculia urens.)
    Gum karaya or gum sterculia, also known as Indian Gum Tragacanth, is a vegetable gum produced as an exudate by trees of the genus Sterculia.

    Karaya gum is used as a bulk-forming laxative to relieve constipation. It is also used to increase sexual desire (as an aphrodisiac). In manufacturing, karaya gum is used as a thickener in medications, cosmetics, and denture adhesives; and as a binder and stabilizer in foods and beverages.

    Gum Karaya can also be used as a binder when making incense.

    The Gum Karaya granules range in size from 8-20mm. There is very little powder in Gum Karaya.

  • Guggal (Commiphora wightii)
    Commiphora wightii, with common names Indian bdellium-tree, gugal, guggul, gugul, or Mukul myrrh tree, is a flowering plant in the family Burseraceae, which produces a fragrant resin called gugal, guggul or gugul, that is used in incense and vedic medicine (or ayurveda). The guggul plant may be found from northern Africa to central Asia, but is most common in northern India. It prefers arid and semi-arid climates and is tolerant of poor soil.

    Guggal is quite sticky and won't have many smaller particles. The granules range in size from 8 - 16mm.

    Our Sacred Frankincense – Royal Green Hojari is imported direct from Oman. This Royal Green Hojari is collected from Mountain regions of Oman’s southern province of Dhofar.

    Frankincense resin is burned as incense in religious ceremonies worldwide, from churches to mosques to ashrams. The distinct aroma creates a sacred space that can help you feel grounded, tranquil, and ready to begin your spiritual practices.


  • Mastic (Pistacia lentiscus)
    We now have a new supplier of Mastic Tears. The price is a little more expensive, but the quality is better and they are much more reliable. We now have Mastic in Powder, Tablet and Capsule form
    “Art of Nature” Mastic, Mastiha, Chios – Food Supplements (Pistacia lentiscus).

    We now have Mastic in 3 grades, the Small Tears are approximately 3-8mm in size, the Medium Tears are approximately 8mm-12mm in size and the Large Tears are approximately 12-15mm in size. There is not much powder in either size. Please let us know your preference in the Order Notes when you checkout.

    Mastic is a resin obtained from the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus). It is also known as tears of Chios, being traditionally produced on the island Chios, and, like other natural resins, is produced in “tears” or droplets.

    Mastic is excreted by the resin glands of certain trees and dries into pieces of brittle, translucent resin. When chewed, the resin softens and becomes a bright white and opaque gum. The flavor is bitter at first, but after some chewing, it releases a refreshing flavor similar to pine and cedar.

    In its hardened form, mastic can be used, like frankincense or Boswellia resin, to produce incense.

  • Myrrh (Commiphora molmol)
    Myrrh resin is a natural gum. It has been used historically as a perfume, incense and medicine. Myrrh is used externally in liniments for bruises, aches, and sprains or healing salves that can be applied to abrasions and other minor skin ailments. Myrrh is used as an antiseptic in mouthwashes, gargles, and toothpastes. It has also been shown to be effective in fighting certain types of parasitic infections.

    The Myrrh granules are small and range in size from 4 - 8mm. There is a fair amount of powder in the Myrrh.

  • Premium Somalia Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)
    Myrrh has been used for centuries to inspire prayer and meditation.

    Myrrh resin is a natural gum. It has been used historically as a perfume, incense and medicine. Myrrh is used externally in liniments for bruises, aches, and sprains or healing salves that can be applied to abrasions and other minor skin ailments. Myrrh is used as an antiseptic in mouthwashes, gargles, and toothpastes. It has also been shown to be effective in fighting certain types of parasitic infections. It has also been used to improve digestion and boost the immune system. Various traditions have used it to treat coughs, gum disease, wounds, candida and the treatment of skin diseases. This deep reddish-brown resin is especially important for oral health.

    Soak in water for a few days in an enclosed container for use as a dental rinse. Also encourages circulation, simulates the immune system, and encourages a woman's natural cycles.

  • Black Olibanum (Boswellia carterii)

  • Olibanum (Boswellia frereana)
    Olibanum is similar to Frankincense and has a pleasant, sweet and woody odour.

    Boswellia frereana is a species of plant native to Somaliland where the locals call it “Dhidin” or “Maydi” (other spellings include: Meydi, Meyti, Maidi, Maieti, and Mayeti) or the king of all frankincense. It is also known as the Yigaar (or Yegaar) tree and by the common name for all frankincense, Luban.

    Other than its aromatic uses, the locals also use it for medicinal purposes; they make it into a paste called “malmal” and apply it on the joints to treat inflammation and arthritis.

    In the West B. frereana is called “Coptic Frankincense” as this is the type and grade used by the Coptic Church of Egypt. 80% of B. frereana production is sold to Saudi Arabia where it is traditionally brought home by Muslim pilgrims. The remaining 20% is sold all around the world.

    The Olibanum granules have an average range in size from 8 - 15mm. There is very little powder in the Olibanum.

  • Opoponax (Commiphora eyrthraea)
    A wonderful name for a glorious gum resin ingredient that’s smokey and soft, luminous and sensual all at once. (Some people think it smells like crushed ivy leaves. Others are reminded of angelica, frankincense and celery).

    The resin is extracted from the bark of the Commiphora eyrthraea tree (mostly from Somalia), and is also known as ‘sweet myrrh’.

    The Opoponax granules have an average range in size from 8 - 20mm. There is very little powder in the Opoponax.

  • Palo Santo Resin (Bursera graveolens)
    Palo Santo Resin has a beautiful sweet, woodsy scent and is ideal for burning as an incense for relaxation, meditation and clearing negative energy.
    Our Palo Santo resin is sourced from sustainable farming practices.

  • Peach Gum (Prunus persica)
    Peach gum is the resin from peach and Chinese wild peach trees, already solidified when it is found. As detailed in classical Chinese medical literature, its curative qualities include solving urinal infections, thirst-quenching and relieving stress.

    Not only used frequently by doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine, peach gum is also a natural and healthy food rich in amino acid, which allows collagen to be quickly absorbed into the human body. This makes many people fall in love with it, and many recipes featuring peach gum has been devised since then. From soups, cooked dishes to desserts, this gemstone-lookalike is a delight to both our palate and skin.

    The Peach Gum granules have an average range in size from 8 - 12mm. There is no powder in the Peach Gum.

  • Pine Resin (Pinus sp.)
    Pine resin has a host of different uses, including as a sealant, glue, and varnish. It is distilled into rosin, which is used to promote a better grip between objects, and oil of turpentine, which is used as a solvent and as a paint thinner. There are medicinal uses of pine resin, or pitch, as well.

    The resin has antibacterial properties which prevent the damaged tree from getting infected. In this same way, pine resin can also be used to heal our wounds. In addition to being a natural antiseptic, pine sap is also anti-inflammatory and its stickiness helps it close wounds.

    Pine is a tree of peace. Burn it to bring joy, purification, and healing.

    The Pine Resin chunks have an average range in size from 8 - 20mm. There is a fair amount of powder in the Pine Resin.

  • Piñon Pine Resin (Pinus edulis)
    This Piñon Pine Resin is collected in the USA.

    Natural pine resin – resinous thick mass, released from the cuts on pine trees. It stiffens upon reaching the surface, thereby protecting the wood from the penetration of bark beetles, fungi and other harmful influences, “heals” the wound.

    This pine resin is raw and still contains the turpentine oil is used to make turpentine (turpentine oil), rosin, and healing balms.

    Usage:
    It has strong antibacterial effect and prevents reproduction of bacteria, viruses and fungal organisms;
    Helps all kinds of inflammation as it is a strong natural antiseptic;
    Cures damaged and inflammatory skin diseases, cleans wounds and ulcers, relieves irritation;
    Has anaesthetic effects. Can be applied to scratches, burns, abrasions;
    Effectively heats the joints and soft tissues, relieving inflammation and swelling. Can be used to apply on joints, bruises and sprains.

    The Piñon Pine Resin granules have an average range in size from 8 - 20mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Piñon Pine Resin.

  • Sandarac (Tetraclinis articulata)
    Sandarac (or sandarach) is a resin obtained from the small cypress-like tree Tetraclinis articulata. The tree is native to the northwest of Africa with a notable presence in the Southern Morocco part of the Atlas mountains. The resin exudes naturally on the stems of the tree. It is also obtained by making cuts on the bark. It solidifies when exposed to the air. It comes to commerce in the form of small solid chips, translucent, and having a delicate yellow tinge. Morocco has been the main place of origin of sandarac. A similar resin is obtained in southern Australia from some species of the Australian cypress-like trees Callitris, but the resin has not been systematically collected in Australia.

    Although it is not very strongly aromatic, sandarac resin was and is also used as an incense. The aroma has been compared to balsam.

    Sandarac is a folk medicine in Morroco, and it is used to relieve cramps and bring an atmosphere of calm during childbirth. It is also used to make a liquor that is drank for relaxation and medicinal properties. Taking Sandarac internally was known for treating tapeworm and roundworm. It is still burnt in the Arabic world to treat a cold.

    The Sandarac granules have an average range in size from 8 - 20mm. There is very little powder in the Sandarac.

  • Scots Pine Resin (Pinus sylvestris)
    This Scots Pine Resin is collected in the Ukraine.

    Natural pine resin – resinous thick mass, released from the cuts on pine trees. It stiffens upon reaching the surface, thereby protecting the wood from the penetration of bark beetles, fungi and other harmful influences, “heals” the wound.

  • Siberian Cedar Resin  (Pinus sibirica)
    The most highly regarded type of resin is found in cedar trees. More official or scientific name of this compound is turpentine, clear and thick, amber-colored liquid with strong “piny” aroma. Turpentine is a protective liquid that comes out of the tree to cover any possible damage, cuts, wounds. Hardening on the surface of damaged area of tree, turpentine prevents spreading of bacteria, fungus, parasites and insects inside of the tree. It is these antibacterial and antiseptic properties that make cedar resin so valuable and precious as an ingredient for healing and natural medicine.

    Cedar resin has been one of the oldest natural ingredients for people leaving around Ural Mountains, lake Baikal, Siberia and Far East of Russia, used as antiseptic for wounds, burns, inflammations, bites.

    The burning of cedar resin was considered cleansing and purifying for body and spirit, so it has long been used key ingredient for incenses burned during religious ceremonies. When collecting resin, Siberian people never cut the tree, rather gathering the resin already formed on the surface. It was considered that one cuts or harms the tree, it will never give out its healing power.

    The Siberian Cedar Resin is sticky and becomes liquid when warmed. There is no powder in the Siberian Cedar Resin.
