So unusually amongst our 50000 item stock  this is a family piece handed to me to sell today  -  It has been on a bookshelf as for decades  the ley  long  lost  -  peeping into the pages  I can see about 150  pages  with some writing at the top towards the rear  so looks like its pretty full of  whatever data was being stored in the PRIVATE  LEDGER   . The brass lock keeps it really tight so you can only see a TINY fraction of the pages some of which seem to date in the 1960s    nobody was going to look at this without the key   .

1/ yOU NEED TO OPEN THE LOCK AND FIND /MAKE  A REPLACEMENT KEY 

2/KEEP  AS IS WITH WHATEVER HISTORICAL  DATA IS INSIDE  ?? 

3/ENGAGE A BOOKBINDER AND HAVE A NEW SUITE OF BLANK PAGES INSERTED  

4/ I HAVE SEEEN THESE  WITH PAGES CUT  OUT TO FORM A CAVITY  FOR  HIDING SOMETHING 

OR  BE AS CREATIVE AS YOU WISH  

ITS A REALLY GREAT EXAMPLE OF  BINDING  WITH  JUST A LITTLE WEAR AND WOULD  POLISH TO LOOK AMAZING  SO  LOTS OF  POTENTIAL  HERE  

SAYS  PRIVATE LEDGER   ON  SPINE -- date 1960s ear    ?  well  - WHILST PHOTOGRAPHING WE could  just  discern  a name in the front top fly paper
