A picture paints a thousand words, and we try very hard to provide photos that give an honest, detailed picture of the condition of the actual laptop in this listing. There are no cracks or missing parts, the hinges are in good working order and the keys/touchpad/buttons are all functioning correctly, as are all the ports. It has been thoroughly cleaned internally to remove dust and the thermal paste has been replaced as necessary.

Lid and base: Superficial cosmetic storage marks.

Screen and bezel: Good, bright image. No marks on the bezel.

Keyboard: Key caps are clearly visible with no significant wear.

Touchpad and buttons: Fully functional with no significant wear.

Wristrest: Very clean, no significant wear.

We rigorously test all our laptops to ensure that everything is working as it should and that all the device drivers are updated and compatible with the latest version of Windows 10.

In addition to a digitally licensed and activated copy of Windows, the software includes Libre Office, an open source productivity suite compatible with Microsoft Office. Also includes 7-zip and VLC Media Player.

Q:      Who are you?

A:      We are Acorn Community Recycling Ltd, a fundraising arm of Acorn Community Care Ltd, a registered charity which supports people with autism and other learning disabilities. We are based in Norton, North Yorkshire. All profits on sales go towards funding the great work we do here.

Q:      Do you offer a warranty?

A:      We have a 30-day return policy. Our laptops have been in use in a working environment but have been well maintained. We thoroughly check for physical damage, faulty components and software problems. Minor physical damage or wear which does not affect full functionality is clearly described and shown in the photos.

Q:      What software is included?

A:      Windows 10 pro or home. 7-zip. VLC Media Player. Libre Office.

Q:      I need MS Office. Can you provide this?

A:      MS Office 365 is now a subscription service, so we cannot preinstall this. The Libre Office installed on our laptops offers similar functionality and can be used to open MS files.

Q:      Does the laptop have a password?

A:      No. You are advised to use a free Microsoft account with your own password to secure the device.
