Kanta O Anyanya Galpa

by Gourahari Das

Kanta O Anyanya Galpa is a collection of sixteen short-stories by Gourahari Das . Flawlessly narrated, the stories sparkle with compassion and humanity. Each story in this collection is distinct and unique, and his broad vision, a composite of tradition and modernity, enables him to see the conflict and complexities of a transforming Odia society. These stories are powerful portrayals of shifting human values, pathos, afflictions of the downtrodden and women and political trickeries. These are poignant tales of human lives, taboos and superstitions, the exploitation of oppressed and suppressed people in rural spaces and the antomonies faced by humans in the face of avalanche of tools of modern societies and changing lifestyles.
